Probably named after Sokkar, the mummified falcon-god of the dead, Sakkara served as the official necropolis of Egypt's main capital city, Memphis. Its most prominent landmark is the famous Step Pyramid which standsat the center of a vast quadrangular precinct dedicated to the afterlife of King Djoser of the Third Dynasty. Lunch at local restaurant.

Continue to visit dahshur south of sakara, known as "the Pyramid of the Rhombus" and the Red Pyramid "the first with a smoothly pyramidal form. Transfer back to your hotel. End of our services.
