Dahshur

Snofru, the first king of the 4th dynasty, built two pyramids in dahshur south of sakara, known as "the Pyramid of the Rhombus" and the Red Pyramid "the first with a smoothly pyramidal form. the cult of Snofru- as king persisted in the region many centuries after his death. In that region pyramids were also built during the Middle Kingdom, but they have been preserved in disrepair because they were made of adobe bricks.
