Day 1 – Boarding in Aswan – Kom Ombo – Gebel el-Silsila
The pick-up point for this trip is the address of your choice in Aswan. At 9 am, you’ll be met by your representative . Transfer from any address in Aswan to embark the Nile Dahabiya. After a welcome by the crew, the boat sets sail towards a small island for a walk through the tranquil countryside. After lunch on the sundeck, you visit the only double temple of Egypt in Kom Ombo, dedicated to two gods, Sobek and Haroeris. The temple has double entrances, procession routes and sanctuaries. Continue sailing to the ancient sandstone quarries at Gebel el-Silsila. First night on board.
Day 2 – Edfu – El Fawaz
After breakfast, you explore the rock temple and the remains of monuments in the old quarries. While daily life on the riverbanks gets underway and the first fishermen are at work, you can relax on the sundeck while the crew sails to Edfu. Here you see the fantastically well-preserved temple of Horus, the falcon god. The walls of the innermost part of the temple are completely covered in texts, which actually makes it a library carved in stone. The day ends at a small Nile island where you have dinner around a campfire. Second night on board.
Day 3 – El-Kab – Esna
Sail to El Kab, the ancient city of Nekheb with temples and rock tombs from the Old Kingdom. Visit some of the tombs cut into the cliffs and the remains of its temples. Sailing to Esna. Third and last night on board.
Day 4 – Disembarkation in Esna
Your Dahabiya journey ends this morning in Esna. Enjoy a final breakfast before transferring to any address in Luxor (45 km south – approximately one hour’s drive), arriving around 11 am.
Day 1 – Boarding in Esna – El Kab – Quessia
The pick-up point for this trip is the address of your choice in Luxor. At 9 am, you’ll be met by our representative. Private transfer from any address in Luxor to Esna (50 km south of Luxor) where the crew of the Dahabiya will take you to board the boat. A visit to the Esna temple and a short walk through the local markets. Your Nile adventure starts by sailing towards El Kab, the ancient city of Nekheb, where you can see the remains of the temples and the tombs. The sailors sets sail for a small island where the boat will moor for the night. Enjoy your dinner on the sundeck or the banks of the river Nile. First night on board.
Day 2 –Edfu – Wadi el Shat
Sail to Edfu, the scenery is stunning changing from golden sand of the desert to lush and green forests of date palms – scenes unchanged in centuries. Visit the beautifully preserved temple of Horus, dedicated
to the falcon-headed god Horus, which is in a state of excellent preservation and once huge ceremonies were held here with live falcons in honour of Horus. Continue sailing to Wadi el Shat for a walk through small villages and the desert. Set sail for a small island where the boat will moor for the night. Dinner will be served on board the Dahabiya or on the tranquil banks of the Nile. Second night on board.
Day 3 – Gebel el Silsila – Kom Ombo – Maniha
Relax in a deck chair and watch the riverside pass by while the crew sails to Gebel El Silsila. You can explore the rock-cut chapels of Seti I, Ramesses II, Merenptah and Horemheb and also remnants of the
monuments in the old sandstone quarries. During lunch on the sun deck the Dahabiya sails towards Kom Ombo, where you go ashore to see the double temple of Sobek and Haroeris. Dinner will be served
around a campfire along the Nile. Third night on board.
Day 4 – Daraw – El Koubania, Aswan
The captain sets sail for the village of Daraw, once the last stop for camel traders from Sudan after a forty days long journey through the Libyan desert . After a walk through the village and camel market
the boat sails further towards Koubania; a Nubian village near Aswan, with lovely gardens filled with citrus and mango trees. Fourth and last night on board.
Day 5 – Disembarkation in Aswan
End of the Dahabiya journey in Aswan after breakfast on board. Transfer to any address in Aswan. ( train station, Airport, hotel)

Akhnaton has a wooden style sailing boat which mix between presents & ancient in a very comfortable & convenience way. We tried to choose all material that’s made of Egypt the bed
covers, tables cover, mattress, etc.…
It is sailing through the Nile from Esna to Aswan and vice versa passing through the small villages and island, the perfect & traditional way to explore the Nile with the ancient sightseeing.
You can have the advantage of reading a book, fishing, swimming in your free time, or even walk around village explore local market and Egyptian people simple life.
Food on board
Meals are freshly prepared on board and served on the sundeck, in the dining room or on a beautiful spot on the banks of the Nile. There’s nothing better than an evening dining under a twinkling night sky
by the light of a campfire. You are far away from the fancy-dress parties of the large cruisers. You’ll find no flashing disco’s here, but it might be possible to attend a show by local musicians under the stars.
